Massey, Stotser & Nichols Welcomes Attorney Dan Wisniewski

New Partner Expands Governmental Representation Practice

Attorney Daniel Wisniewski

Massey, Stotser & Nichols, PC, one of the largest local law firms serving Trussville and the surrounding areas, is pleased to announce the addition of attorney Daniel J. Wisniewski, who joins the firm as a partner in the Governmental Representation and Business Law practices. Based in the firm’s Trussville office, Daniel primarily represents municipalities and individuals involved in civil litigation and in an advisory capacity, leveraging more than a decade of in-house experience in municipal law, administrative matters, and litigation in state and federal courts.

Before joining the firm, he most recently served in the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Alabama, where his duties included authoring published opinions on legal questions submitted by municipalities, regulatory boards, state agencies, legislative committees, and other public officials. Daniel also represented the Alabama Department of Corrections, and its officials, in complex state and federal litigation.

Daniel began his career practicing law in Virginia, representing both cities and counties. As an assistant city attorney, he served as legal advisor to city councils, boards of zoning appeals, law enforcement agencies, planning and zoning offices, risk managers, and litigated matters involving civil rights, land use, condemnation, and general liability. Additionally, Daniel drafted and reviewed city ordinances, contracts, leases, administrative regulations, and detailed legal memoranda. As an assistant county attorney, Daniel managed a spectrum of litigation, including zoning and subdivision cases, tax appeals, and code enforcement. His advisory work with various county departments encompassed legal matters involving land use, FOIA, economic development, civil rights, and local taxation.

This comprehensive experience within multiple levels of government positions him as a valuable advisor available to local governments navigating today’s complex legal landscape.

“Dan’s experience working in the Alabama Attorney General’s office and within both county and city governments adds another dimension to our firm’s growing governmental representation practice,” said attorney Rick Stotser, senior partner at Massey, Stotser & Nichols. “His extensive background in the practical application of governmental law, depth of expertise in public-sector litigation, and breadth of experience advising state and local entities make him an exceptional asset to our clients and firm.”

With Daniel’s addition, Massey, Stotser & Nichols further solidifies its position as a trusted legal advisor to municipalities, counties, school boards, utility boards, and other public entities across Central Alabama.
