Scott spent his formative years in Birmingham, Alabama, after moving to town from St. Louis, Missouri. He attended U.A.B. on a soccer scholarship and earned his degree cum laude with honors in interdisciplinary studies in 1991. Scott then attended the University of Alabama School of Law, graduating in the Class of 1994 after receiving numerous best paper and moot court honors.
Scott has spent his entire practice in civil litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants. The majority of his civil litigation practice is on the insurance defense side where he has handled a myriad of case types from initial pleading through trial.
Scott is a member of St. Stephens’ Episcopal Church with his wife, Leah, and stepson Max. He also has two grown children, William and Emily, who continue to live and work in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama, area.
