Randy Nichols and Jim Kee Earn Best Lawyers Recognition for 16th Consecutive Year

Massey, Stotser & Nichols, P.C. (MSN) is pleased to announce that attorneys Randall W. “Randy” Nichols and James A. “Jim” Kee Jr. have again been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®. This marks the 16th consecutive year both attorneys have received the peer-reviewed recognition.
Nichols was recognized in Family Law and Appellate Practice and received the additional honor of “Lawyer of the Year” for Family Law in Birmingham. Kee was selected for his work in Construction Law and Insurance Law.
Together, their honors reflect the breadth of legal services available through MSN, which span from helping individuals and families navigate deeply personal legal matters to representing businesses and insurers in complex disputes. Their recognition also underscores the firm’s commitment to providing deep experience close to home through attorneys with longstanding ties to the communities they serve.
“Clients should not have to choose between sophisticated legal advice and an attorney who understands their community and is personally invested in it,” said Rick Stotser, senior partner at Massey, Stotser & Nichols. “Randy and Jim exemplify what MSN strives to provide across all areas of the firm: experienced legal counsel delivered by local attorneys our clients know and can trust through various stages of life and business. We are proud to see their work recognized by their peers for the 16th consecutive year.”
Nichols represents clients in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and related appeals. His appellate practice draws upon extensive courtroom experience and a detailed understanding of the legal and procedural issues that can shape a case beyond the trial level. He also serves as a mediator, helping parties pursue practical resolutions to family law disputes.
Kee focuses his practice on construction law and insurance-related litigation. He represents clients in complex disputes involving construction projects, contracts, insurance coverage, and other commercial matters, providing both strategic counsel and experienced courtroom advocacy.
Selection for The Best Lawyers in America is based entirely on peer review. More than 30 million confidential evaluations were analyzed for the 2027 edition, with recognized attorneys evaluated by other leading lawyers within the same geographic region and practice area.
